A relatively quiet country in Central America, Costa Rica has only recently moved to the foreground of the coffee world. This country’s coffee estates have been growing coffee for decades, their coffees going largely unnoticed by the general public. It wasn’t more than two decades ago that Costa Rican coffee was discovered (or re-discovered).
Since then, the country has become one of the most prolific growers and exporters of specialty coffee in the whole world. All their coffee is high-quality arabica, and a big percentage of it is specialty-grade, as well as being ethically grown.
This blend features a medium roast of delicate, naturally sweet coffee beans. The flavor feels refreshing and very natural, with hints of sweet apple, raisins and honey: the flavor profile of a high-quality, organic harvest. It can be enjoyed any way you prefer, although the sweetness really shines with brewing methods that are light on filtering like the French press, cowboy coffee, and similar.
This is specialty grade coffee with a score of 85+ points putting it in the range of Excellent. This puts it in the top 5-7% of coffee in the world.
